Heathcote’s top bowlers on a roll

A RED-hot Heathcote is back on home greens to play Marong in Saturday’s fourth round of division three action in the Bendigo leg of Bendigo Campaspe Goldfields weekend pennant.

The showdown between the Saints and Panthers starts at 1.30pm.

Heathcote marked a hat-trick of victories as it rolled its way to a 24-shot win against Golden Square last Saturday.

The Saints won 83-59 as Chris Morcom, Bill Gardiner and John McGillivray won by 11, six and 10 shots.

The Adam Luxford-skipped rink was beaten by three shots.

In division six, Heathcote will aim to bounce back from defeat when it plays at Castlemaine.

The Saints went down 57-68 in their home game against White Hills.

Grant Baker won by 14 shots, but Denis Kilner and Tony Leahy were defeated by two and 23 shots.

In midweek pennant, Heathcote makes its way to Harcourt on Monday.

The Saints won the Remembrance Day match at home against Kangaroo Flat by 21 shots.

It was Heathcote’s second win of the season.

The Saints marked a 65-44 victory as Lorraine Speirs won 19-13, and Dot Cutajar scored a 20-shot win.

In a closely-fought match, Eileen O’Brien was defeated by D. Densley, 23-18.

Tuesday Night Pennant on Heathcote’s greens starts on November 19 at 7pm.

The club’s 120th anniversary celebrations will be held on Sunday, December 1 at 1pm.

The Christmas break-up and raffle is on December 12.

Members are asked to bring good for the Christmas Raffle to be drawn that night.
