IT’S a huge match for Strathfieldsaye and South Bendigo this week in Bendigo Bank Bendigo Football Netball League seniors round fifteen action.

The matchup may be a prelude to an elimination final as fourth and fifth clash at Triple M Park in Strathfieldsaye’s Tannery Lane from 2.20pm.

Storm and the Bloods start the round a win clear of the sixth-placed Kyneton which will play at Castlemaine’s Camp Reserve.

Beaten in the 14th round, Strathfieldsaye and South Bendigo will be desperate for the points.

In round six it was Storm which won on South Bendigo’s turf at Harry Trott Oval in Kennington by 11 points.

Strathfieldsaye’s latest hit-out was at Eaglehawk where the Two Blues raced to a 45-point lead by quarter-time.

Storm fought back brilliantly, but the Travis Matheson-coached Borough led 98-84 at the final siren.

The Bloods worked hard to be within three points of Sandhurst at half-time of their match at Queen Elizabeth Oval.

The ladder-leading Dragons fired up for an 80-51 victory.

Two wins from as many starts for Kyneton’s interim coach Darren Chambers has the yellow and black back in contention for finals action.

Kyneton fought from two goals down at the start of the final term of the home game against a resurgent Gisborne for a 110-107 victory.

The Brad Fox-coached Gisborne is back at Gardiner Reserve this Saturday to take on Golden Square.

Massive test for a Gisborne defence in trying to stop Joel Brett who kicked 12 goals as Golden Square past the 230-point mark against Maryborough last round.

The Coby Perry-coached Maryborough is at Princes Park to take on a red-hot Sandhurst.

Finally, it’s a big test for the Brendan Shepherd-coached Castlemaine at home against Kyneton.

The other Magpies played well to finish within 23-points of Kangaroo Flat at Dower Park last round.
