Moulamein, Echuca team pocket Tattersall triples

THE Moulamein/Echuca team of Kerryn Evans (s), Belinda Chong and Louisa Dean won the Ray Tattersall Memorial triples played last Sunday on Heathcote Bowling Club’s greens.

After a frosty start the classic was played in near perfect conditions by 24 teams.

Play was four games of eight ends.

Bowlers from Bendigo East, Colbinabbin, Echuca, Elmore, Heathcote, Kilmore, Kyneton Golf, Moama, Rushworth, South Bendigo, and Stanhope competed.

Only four-game winner was the Kerryn Evans-skipped rink on 63 points and +30 shots.

Runners-up were Heathcote’s Chris Morcom (s), Ray Anderson and Peter Zander on three wins, 55 points, +19 shots.

The Heathcote Bowling Club thanks the Tattersall family for its continued sponsorship of this popular tournament.

Mixed social bowls will be played this Saturday at Heathcote from 1pm.

A group of 12 contested three games of pairs in Saturday’s perfect conditions.

Winners were Lorraine and Greg Speirs (s) on three wins, 45 points, +23 shots.

Runners-up were Peter Zander (s) and John Hutson, two wins, 32 points, +3 shots.

The jackpot was not won.

Social bowls on Wednesday, July 30 was held in cold and windy weather.

A group of 18 played three games of pairs and triples.

Winners were Eileen O’Brien (s) and Greg Speirs on three wins, 46 points, +23 shots.

Runners-up were Ray Anderson (s) and Rod Bond on two wins, one draw, 41 points, +18 shots.

The jackpot was not won.

A committee meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 13 from 5pm in the clubrooms.
