Mounts junior netballers flock to pool

A GET-TOGETHER for Mount Pleasant Football Netball Club’s junior netballers will be held next Tuesday at Goornong Swimming Pool.

The Blues’ under-13, under-15 and under-15 netballers and their families will meet from 5.30pm until 7pm at the pool leading into pre-season.

The club will provide a barbecue and players are to take entry fees for the pool.

For catering purposes, RSVP to Kristy on 0429 845 060 by the end of today.

This season the Blues’ 17-under netball team will have Carly Francis and Kealy Rogers as co-coaches.

Carine Comer will coach the 13-under team.

At senior level, Anthea McCleary will coach A-Grade, with Keeley Jones to coach A-Reserve.

On the footy front, Mount Pleasant has recruited Josh Hann from Kerang as playing co-coach.

A premiership winner at Sandhurst, Hann also played in two premierships with Kerang.

Mount Pleasant’s dual premiership coach Cam Carter stays on at Toolleen as director of coaching.

The club also welcomes back Adam Baird as midfield coach.

The Bendigo Bank Heathcote DFNL season kicks off on 12 April.

Neighbours and fierce rivals, Mount Pleasant and Heathcote clash at Toolleen.

There will be two night games to mark the season opener.

The Winslow White Hills Demons will unfurl their premiership flag at home before tackling Leitchville Gunbower in the rematch of the 2024 grand finalists in Scott Street.

Lockington Bamawm United hosts Huntly in the clash of the Cats and Hawks under lights.

North Bendigo takes on Elmore at the Bulldogs’ kennel in Atkins Street.
