HEATHCOTE’S unbeaten record in division three will be under threat when it plays on Woodbury’s greens in Saturday’s seventh round of Bendigo Campaspe Goldfields Bowls weekend pennant.

It’s first against third at Woodbury in Strathdale’s Park Street from 1.30pm.

Heavy rain on Friday night meant all of last Saturday’s play was washed out.

The Saints were to have played Eaglehawk in division three and at North Bendigo in division six.

The Saints have a win-loss tally of five-nil and lead division three on 92 points.

Woodbury’s record is three-two and 62 points.

In division six, Heathcote hosts the unbeaten Golden Square which leads the premiership race.

A one-four record has the Saints in sixth place on 28 points.

In Monday’s midweek pennant, Heathcote makes its way to Strathfieldsaye for a 10am showdown.

The Saints will be keen to hit back after a 27-shot loss in last Monday’s home game against Castlemaine.

The Magpies led 73-46 after the final bowl.

The club’s 120th anniversary celebration was held last Sunday.

About 60 members, past members and sponsors gathered to mark the special event.

Club president Lorraine Speirs invited the oldest member Ellis Knight to say a few words.

A past president and committee member of 30 years, Ellis reminisced on a near 45-year stint with the Saints.

President Lorraine proposed a toast to the club and cut the Birthday cake.

Round two of the popular Tuesday Night Pennant drew 18 teams to play eight ends.

Ladder leader is Orange (SES).

The Christmas break-up will be held on Thursday, December 12 after pennant practice.

The raffle will be drawn on that night.

Members are requested to provide goods for the raffle.
