HAVING broken Sandhurst’s unbeaten run, Golden Square faces another big test in the Bendigo Bank Bendigo FNL’s thirteenth round of senior footy this Saturday.

Riding on an eight-game winning streak, Golden Square makes its way to Kennington’s Harry Trott Oval in Neale Street to face South Bendigo.

It was the Nathan Horbury-coached Bloods who were the last team to beat Golden Square.

South Bendigo did so by a point on Golden Square’s Fur Life Oval in round four.

The Bulldogs and Bloods had resounding wins last round.

After being down by four goals at quarter-time the Christian Carter-coached Bulldogs scored 12.11 to 5.5 across the next three terms to complete a 96-72 win against Sandhurst.

The Dogs moved within two points of the ladder-leading Dragons.

South Bendigo marked its trek to Kyneton by scoring a 107-point win against the Tigers.

Ruckman Mac Cameron was best afield for the Bloods as Steven Stroobants and Brock Harvey kicked five and four goals.

Another big match will be at Queen Elizabeth Oval where Sandhurst takes on Strathfieldsaye.

The Darryl Wilson-coached Storm bounced back from defeat to mark a 70-point win against Castlemaine last round.

Storm is locked on an eight and four record with the Bloods and could climb to the third rung should South Bendigo be beaten.

Although it’s 10 points behind the fifth-placed Eaglehawk, Gisborne has shown it has plenty to play for.

The Brad Fox-coached Bulldogs marked a seven-goal win at Eaglehawk’s Canterbury Park last round.

Gisborne is at home to play Kangaroo Flat at Gardiner Reserve this Saturday.

The return of classy on-baller Brad Bernacki from Essendon is a huge plus for Gisborne.

Bernacki was best afield as the Dogs won every quarter against the Travis Matheson-coached Two Blues.

The winless Maryborough is back at Princes Park to take on Kyneton.

The Paul Chapman-coached Kyneton would have been bitterly disappointed with the result of the clash with the Bloods.

The Coby Perry-coached Maryborough was again overrun in the final quarter as Kangaroo Flat won 75-60 at Dower Park.

The Brendan Shepherd-coached Castlemaine is at Camp Reserve to take on Eaglehawk.
