ON A FOUR-game winning streak, Kyneton’s Tigers will eye an upset result on Strathfieldsaye Storm’s turf in Saturday’s ninth round of senior footy in the Bendigo Bank Bendigo FNL season.

Kyneton treks to Triple M Park in Strathfieldsaye’s Tannery Lane determined to keep the momentum rolling.

After three straight losses to start the season, the Paul Chapman-coached Tigers have struck back to beat Maryborough, Gisborne, Eaglehawk, and Kangaroo Flat.

Being on Storm’s turf will be another huge test for the yellow and black.

The Darryl Wilson-coached Storm has also hit back after an injury-riddled start to the season to now be fourth on a five and three record.

Another win and Storm could jump above the third-placed Eaglehawk which faces the unbeaten Sandhurst this Saturday at the Borough’s Canterbury Park.

Strathfieldsaye captain Lachlan Sharp kicked seven goals in the latest victory at Maryborough’s Princes Park.

Inaccuracy was costly as Eaglehawk was beaten, 10.10 (70) to 9.13 (67) in last Saturday’s match on Golden Square’s ground at Fur Life Oval in Wade Street.

The Hawks’ run of defeats have been by margins of three, one, and three points.

The winning streak for Sandhurst kept rolling, but a score of 119-34 against Castlemaine at Queen Elizabeth Oval was not as big a blowout as some fans thought it may be.

Kangaroo Flat is back home at Dower Park to take on Golden Square.

The Nathan Johns-coached Roos could be strengthened by the inclusion of former Greater Western Sydney Giants and later Hawthorn key forward Jonathon Patton.

The number one pick in the 2011 AFL draft, Patton played 95 matches in the big league.

Reigning premier Gisborne rolls toward the halfway mark on a two and six record and desperate to take the points on home turf at Gardiner Reserve against Maryborough.

The Brad Fox-coached Bulldogs were within 17 points of South Bendigo at half-time last Saturday, but the Bloods then slammed on 10.5 to 1.8 in the final hour to win 131-63.

South Bendigo heads south to Castlemaine’s Camp Reserve to play the Magpies this Saturday and the Bloods’ small forwards Steven Stroobants, Brock Harvey and Will Keck are in hot form.
