SHOWCASING the latest in agricultural innovation with hands-on experiences and fun for the whole family, the Elmore Field Days are returning for their sixty-second year.<\/p>\n

As well as popular favourite attractions, there will be many new exhibits.<\/p>\n

“This year we have the Health Hub which offers a health checkup for farmers and people living in rural areas,” said Elmore Field Days volunteer Clara Holmberg.<\/p>\n

“It includes a variety of wellbeing checks, including skin cancer checks.<\/p>\n

“We also have a craft and culture corner within the General Interest pavilion, which showcases skilled artists talents including leather crafts, basket weaving, crochet, lace making and mixed media creations.<\/p>\n

“The shearing shed has a packed three days with shearing and wool demonstrations across all days.<\/p>\n

“This feature is partnering with Shearing for Kids with Cancer, an incredible group raising money for childhood cancer, clinical research, family support and to improve the lives of children with cancer.<\/p>\n

“Elmore Field Days is proud to partner with them this year.”<\/p>\n

There will be a wide range of activities to keep the kids entertained.<\/p>\n

“Activities for the kids this year include camel rides, an interactive archaeology site, face painting, Bunnings activities and gold panning,” said Ms Holmberg.<\/p>\n

“We attract visitors for all over Australia and have the added benefit of a runway strip on site so visitors can fly in from all over the country.<\/p>\n

“Also, this year we have Bendigo flying club offering scenic joy flights which gives a whole new perspective of viewing the site. “This year’s preparations are going well with most things coming together nicely.<\/p>\n

“The team in the office do such a great job at keeping us all organized and on the right track.<\/p>\n

“We have our annual peg out day coming up which sees the greater community come together to assist with marking out sites.<\/p>\n

“I am looking forward to seeing the Beloka Kelpies again which were a hit last year with their demonstrations across the three days.”<\/p>\n

The event will be held on 7, 8 and 9 October at the Elmore Events Centre, 48 Rosaia Road, Elmore. Gates open from 8.30am to 5pm.<\/p>\n

Entry is $25 for adults, $15 for students 13 to 17 years old and free for under-12s.<\/p>\n
