{"id":101427,"date":"2025-10-31T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-10-30T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mcivortimes\/?p=101427"},"modified":"2025-10-30T16:14:23","modified_gmt":"2025-10-30T05:14:23","slug":"its-showtime","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mcivortimes\/news\/its-showtime\/","title":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s showtime!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PREPARATIONS for the annual Heathcote Show are well under way with lots of old favourites and new attractions.<\/p>\n<p>The show will be held on Melbourne Cup Day, Tuesday 4 November.<\/p>\n<p>Showman&#8217;s Guild delegate Adam Reardon said there will be a good variety of attractions in sideshow alley.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This year we have dodgem cars, bungees, lucky ducks, basketball games, Grab some Grub, fairy floss and snow cones as well as many others,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Showmen always enjoy coming to Heathcote Show, visiting the local eateries and seeing old friends.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We hope to see everyone at the showgrounds on Tuesday.&#8221; Show secretary Robyn Donovan said there will be lots of stalls including some great food at this year&#8217;s show.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 599px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2025\/10\/HeathcoteShow-18_22782.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"599\" height=\"425\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Arts &amp; Crafts competition at Heathcote Show will feature flowers and produce, handicrafts, cooking and photography, with a section for everyone. Photo: FILE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have Thai and Vietnamese stalls, twisty potatoes, whipped ice cream, baked spuds and a new cappuccino stall,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Lions Club will have their barbeque and there will be lots of other options.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This year we have a stall selling Alpaca clothing and there will be a variety of stalls selling homemade goods. &#8220;Free activities include Farmer Darryl, Whitey&#8217;s Ferrets, Professor Wallace and face painting.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Entries for the Arts &amp; Crafts Competitions are coming in, including flowers, garden produce, knitting and crochet, needlework and patchwork, photography and lots of different cooking sections.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Pre Show Office at the Guide Hall will be open for entries today until 4.30pm and tomorrow until noon.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2025\/10\/HRshowentries_34309.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Class action: William, Michelle, Hannah, Huxley and Dot from Holy Rosary Primary School have been busy preparing their artwork for the Heathcote Show. Photo: SANDRA JAMES<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;All entries must be delivered to the Art &amp; Craft pavilion at the showgrounds between 10am and noon on Monday 3 November.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;No entries will be accepted after this time.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Students from Holy Rosary Primary School have been busy preparing their entries for the show.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The students used a spring theme,&#8221; said art teacher Adrienne Stokes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Using acrylic paint they have painted stained glass windows in contrasting colours. They are all very enthusiastic about their entries.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Showground gates open at 9am.
