DESPITE initial concerns about the weather, the rain held off, and the annual Heathcote Show was enjoyed by young and old on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Sideshow attractions were popular as well as the Horse and Pony Club competition, art and craft, and a wide selection of foods.<\/p>\n

“Although it was cold at times, we were pleased the rain held off and lots of locals supported the show,” show secretary Robin Donovan said.<\/p>\n

“There were happy faces everywhere and we received good feedback.<\/p>\n

“Kids enjoyed having their faces painted, visiting Farmer Darryl and watching Professor Wallace’s puppet show.<\/p>\n

“We had a good turn-up for the horse and dog events and stewards Marj Harris and Laraine Leask were pleased with the number of entries in the arts and crafts pavilion.”<\/p>\n

Ms Leask said it was great to see all the sections well supported.<\/p>\n

“There were lots of flowers and produce, baking and craft items of all types,” she said.<\/p>\n

“It’s always good to see the kids coming in to view their art and handwriting entries and it made a magnificent display.”<\/p>\n

Showmen’s Guild delegate Adam Reardon said that although numbers were a little down due to the weather, visitors enjoyed the attractions in sideshow alley.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
