BANKING at Heathcote Post Office is now available for customers of all four major banks now that ANZ has joined Bank@Post.<\/p>\n
The service allows customers to deposit or withdraw cash and check balances at the post office.<\/p>\n
“ANZ was the only major bank that wasn’t part of the Bank@Post deal until now,” Heathcote Post Office and Newsagency co-owner Tim Linnell said.<\/p>\n
“Now we can service customers from all the major banks.<\/p>\n
“Bank@Post allows customers to deposit or withdraw cash at the post office, which is becoming especially important as bank branches close or don’t support cash customers.”<\/p>\n
Customers will be able to use the service from Monday to Saturday.<\/p>\n
“Here at Heathcote Post Office, Bank@Post is available every business day from 9am to 5pm and Saturdays from 9am to 12pm but we are closed on public holidays,” Mr Linnell said.<\/p>\n
Heathcote Post Office also offers a parcel pick-up service.<\/p>\n
“We took the initiative over four-and-a-half years ago to purchase a van and provide a collection service for local businesses in Heathcote,” Mr Linnell said.<\/p>\n
“This gave businesses more time to focus on their business and made posting with Australia Post a more convenient and cost-effective service overall.<\/p>\n
“This was particularly important for the local wineries as they often had quantities that could not fit into a normal car, and there were no regular and reliable collection services available.<\/p>\n
“We do not charge a fee for this service; we just require a minimum number of parcels to make it viable for us.<\/p>\n
“The service has been very much valued and appreciated.<\/p>\n
“So far this calendar year we have picked up nearly 8000 parcels from local businesses.<\/p>\n
“Since inception we have collected over 30,000 parcels.”<\/p>\n
The staff at the post office can help customers with a wide range of services including domestic and international mail posting, bill payments, passport and ID photos, parcel collection and PO box rental, money transfers and travel money products, stamps, packaging, gifts and cards.<\/p>\n
