Mr Frahm and club members visit Reflections at Eppalock to support people and their families living with dementia.<\/p>\n
“It’s called Fishin’ Friends and we enjoy a free barbecue, coffee and cake once a month on a Sunday,” he said.<\/p>\n
“It’s more than fishing, it’s connection.<\/p>\n
“Our upcoming events will be on 22 February, 29 March and 26 April.<\/p>\n
“They are held at Reflections at Eppalock, Themeda Close Kimbolton, from 10am to 2pm.”<\/p>\n
The club is holding an Easter raffle in support of Fishin’ Friends. Prizes are an Easter hamper, groceries and a meat tray.<\/p>\n
Tickets are $2 each or three for $5, and it will be drawn at 1pm at the HAC Fishin’ Friends event on 29 March.<\/p>\n
Mr Frahm moved to Australia from Germany in 1966 and retired to Heathcote in 2007.<\/p>\n
“I have been fishing all my life,” he said.<\/p>\n
“It is a great, relaxing sport and I would love to encourage anyone who is interested, especially young people.<\/p>\n
“They are the future of the club.<\/p>\n
“We would also like to get club competitions going again and our annual trips away to fishing spots further afield.”<\/p>\n
The barbecue will be held at the clubrooms at the rear of Barrack Reserve, next to the swimming pool, starting at 7pm.<\/p>\n
