HEATHCOTE residents are invited to attend the Advance Heathcote AGM to be held on Tuesday at Barrack Recreation Reserve Pavilion from 5pm to 6.30pm.<\/p>\n
Advance Heathcote was established in 2015 and works to advance the liveability and community wellbeing of Heathcote and district.<\/p>\n
“Everyone is welcome,” president Kerstin Brauns said.<\/p>\n
“Attendees can hear what AHI has achieved through the Heathcote Community Plan 2021-2025, celebrate local progress and heroes, and have a say in shaping the next Heathcote Community Plan.”<\/p>\n
The 2021-2025 Heathcote and District Community Plan was prepared after consultation with Heathcote community groups and community members.<\/p>\n
Incorporating ideas from a range of local people, the plan is the platform to enhance Heathcote’s liveability, future growth and development.<\/p>\n
The 2021-2025 plan was divided into goals under seven outcomes:<\/p>\n
Lead and Govern for All \u2013 community working together to achieve shared visions with strategies to support leadership and good governance.<\/p>\n
Healthy, Liveable Spaces and Places \u2013 supporting health and liveability of our community.<\/p>\n
Strong, Inclusive and Sustainable Economy \u2013 strategies to support the sustainable, economic growth of our community where all people can thrive.<\/p>\n
Aboriginal Reconciliation \u2013 a community that recognises, respects and supports Aboriginal people and culture.<\/p>\n
A Climate-resilient Built and Natural Landscape \u2013 strategies to support healthy regional landscapes and buildings that are developed with the changing climate and earth’s resources in mind.<\/p>\n
A Vibrant, Creative Community \u2013 strategies to support a culture of creativity that activates its spaces and nurtures and supports talent and champions inclusion.<\/p>\n
A Safe, Welcoming and Fair Community \u2013 where people are respected and safe to participate in all aspects of community life and have equitable access to resources.<\/p>\n
Ms Brauns said community consultation has started for the 2026-2030 Heathcote community plan.<\/p>\n
“We want to hear ideas from as many community members as possible to populate our goals for the next community plan,” she said.<\/p>\n
“This is your chance as a Heathcote community member to have a say in what plans and improvements we would like to action in the next community plan.”<\/p>\n
The AGM will include the announcement of the 2025 Heathcote Local Heroes awards.<\/p>\n
There are three categories: group of local heroes, youth hero and individual hero. Committee members for 2026 will also be elected.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
