THERE will be something on offer for everyone at the annual Heathcote Harvest Festival to be held this Sunday 8 March at Barrack Reserve Oval.<\/p>\n
The festival celebrates the beginning of autumn and vintage for local vineyards.<\/p>\n
“With fine weather predicted, we believe this year will be the best yet,” said vice-president of Heathcote Tourism & Development, India Munari.<\/p>\n
Kicking off at 4pm, there will be a twilight market featuring a variety of local and regional market stalls.<\/p>\n
Visitors are invited to wander around and enjoy the local wines, craft beer and spirits.<\/p>\n
There will be no free tastings. Each vendor will be selling drinks at bar prices.<\/p>\n
The $10 admission fee includes a free glass on entry to enjoy the tasty wares from the broad array of vendors.<\/p>\n
The drinks lineup includes Envy Distilling, Silver Spoon Estate, Three Dams Estate, In Good Spirits Distilling, Pook Road Winery, Munari Wines, Sutherland Wines, M.Chapoutier, Lost Watering Hole, Axedale Tavern and Bendigo Brewing Co.<\/p>\n
Silver Spoon will be serving up their unique ros\u00e9 in a can.<\/p>\n
Three Dams estate will be dishing up tasty Spanish-themed pizza, patatas bravas and delicious paella as well as Sangria and Spanish wine varieties by the glass.<\/p>\n
Munari Wines will be keeping punters cool with interesting Italian white varieties, Vermentino, Garganega, Fiano and ros\u00e9.<\/p>\n
Lost Watering Hole from Lancefield is a craft brewery that has been a welcome addition to the event for the past two years.<\/p>\n
They will be pouring a selection of beers straight from their unique keg combi van.<\/p>\n
Food options available include slushies and souvlaki, burgers, pizza and fairy floss, while among the stalls to peruse will be toys, clothing and plants. On the main stage the festival will feature a great lineup live music with Luke Harrington and The Hoodoo Heathens, Doc Halibut and Beth String Fix Guitar.There will be plenty to keep the kids amused with lawn games, face painting and, for the first time, a giant teacup ride.<\/p>\n
The Heathcote Harvest Festival is dog friendly, so bring your family and friends, picnic blankets and chairs, and enjoy a great night out celebrating the beginning of the Heathcote region harvest. Entry is $10 for adults, including an event glass, and kids under 18 are free.<\/p>\n
