{"id":102875,"date":"2026-03-14T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-03-13T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mcivortimes\/?p=102875"},"modified":"2026-03-11T23:06:54","modified_gmt":"2026-03-11T12:06:54","slug":"women-celebrated-over-brekky","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mcivortimes\/news\/women-celebrated-over-brekky\/","title":{"rendered":"Women celebrated over brekky"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MORE than 50 women gathered at The Watering Hole on Wednesday morning for breakfast to celebrate International Women&#8217;s Day.<\/p>\n<p>The event was a joint project by Heathcote Community House, Heathcote Health, Advance Heathcote Inc and Alkane.<\/p>\n<p>The women enjoyed a muffin and hot drink with the cost covered by Alkane.<\/p>\n<p>IWD is officially marked on 8 March around the world and this year&#8217;s theme was Balance the Scales, a call to ensure equality and a fair go for women and girls across Australia and the world.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2026\/03\/Womensday20261_07560.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">International Women&#8217;s Day attendees enjoyed hot drinks and muffins sponsored by Alkane.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Heathcote Health CEO Jackie Kelly said there was a fabulous turn out.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is great to see so many women attending,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Events like these are good for the health and wellbeing of small communities.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is wonderful to see everyone making new connections and catching up with friends and colleagues.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2026\/03\/WomensDay20263_63144.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"1600\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Heathcote Health CEO Jackie Kelly, nurse unit manager acute and urgent care Jade Runnalls and executive assistant Michelle Chapman took the opportunity to meet other women in the community at the International Women&#8217;s Day breakfast this week.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We really appreciate Alkane sponsoring the event with hot drinks and coffee, and the wonderful service and setting at The Watering Hole.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have a very engaging community, and it is wonderful to be a part of hosting events such as these.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Attendee Pam Boyes said it was great to see so much support for the event.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have all had a great time and I especially enjoyed catching up with some former nursing colleagues,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MORE than 50 women gathered at The Watering Hole on Wednesday morning for breakfast to celebrate International Women&#8217;s Day.
