{"id":102958,"date":"2026-03-24T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-03-23T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mcivortimes\/?p=102958"},"modified":"2026-03-18T23:12:23","modified_gmt":"2026-03-18T12:12:23","slug":"seeking-submissions-for-short-film-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mcivortimes\/news\/seeking-submissions-for-short-film-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"Seeking submissions for short film festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Heathcote Film Festival has officially opened submissions for its 14th annual celebration of storytelling on screen<\/p>\n<p>The festival is set to take place on 28 and 29 August 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Filmmakers from across Australia and beyond are invited to submit their work for consideration in this year&#8217;s program.<\/p>\n<p>The festival committee is seeking short films of no more than 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;All genres are welcome; from drama and documentary to animation, comedy, experimental work, and everything in between,&#8221; said Duncan McGann from the festival committee.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The event has always championed diverse voices and fresh perspectives, making it an ideal platform for emerging and established filmmakers alike.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In addition to welcoming filmmakers of all experience levels, the committee is eager to receive entries from emerging Australian creators who are still early in their careers.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2026\/03\/HFF_93090.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"630\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The next festival will be held on 28 and 29 of August.
