FOLLOWING a successful Bendigo Pride Festival Queer Trivia Night at the Commercial Hotel recently, the event is set to return in 2027.<\/p>\n
Frock Hudson hosted the night, which was filled with camp chaos and clever questions.<\/p>\n
“I have to tell you that participants in Heathcote are a lot smarter than those in Bendigo,” joked Bendigo Pride committee member Penelope Mullins.<\/p>\n
“Questions ranged from pop culture and queer history to music and movies.<\/p>\n
“Everyone had a fabulous night.<\/p>\n
“Frock Hudson set some great questions and there were lots of laughs and some serious competition.<\/p>\n
“Our hosts at the Commercial Hotel, Michael and Grant were delightful hosts.<\/p>\n
“They took care of Frock Hudson and myself so well, and the meals were delicious.<\/p>\n
“They are funny and generous people and I’m looking forward to getting back to the Commercial soon to sample more of their menu.”<\/p>\n
Mullins said the Pride Festival program is all about socialising and networking, and to reach the queer community of all ages.<\/p>\n
“We want everyone to take care of themselves and to feel safe,” she said.<\/p>\n
“Events like this help to foster inclusion for the LGBTIQA+ community.<\/p>\n
“The committee is not only planning to hold another Queer Trivia Night at next year’s festival, we will hold a minimum of two events in Heathcote.<\/p>\n
“Heathcote is an important part of the City of Greater Bendigo and we hope everyone will support the events.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
