DEMENTIA Alliance will host the Caring Together Expo next Monday 25 May at Reflections at Eppalock.<\/p>\n

The expo will bring together carers, people living with dementia, families, local residents and service providers for a day of practical support, connection and celebration.<\/p>\n

The day will also see the launch of two resources developed by Dementia Alliance: the Caring Together Handbook and the Community-Led Dementia Care Masterclass Series and Handbook.<\/p>\n

Dementia Alliance founder and president Sandra Slatter said the expo is designed to create a welcoming space where carers and families can access information, ask questions and feel less alone.<\/p>\n

“Carers often tell us they do not know where to start, who to ask, or what support is available until they are already overwhelmed,” Slatter said.<\/p>\n

“The Caring Together Expo brings people, services and community together in one place in a warm, practical and human way.<\/p>\n

“It is about connection, culture, dignity and making sure carers feel supported.”<\/p>\n

Small group sessions, information stalls, and guided tours of Reflections at Eppalock and Costerfield House will be led.<\/p>\n

There will be activities, music, food and opportunities for informal conversations with service providers and organisations.<\/p>\n

Slatter said the event reflects the broader purpose of Reflections at Eppalock.<\/p>\n

“Reflections is not just a site; it is a place where people can see what dementia-inclusive community can look and feel like,” she said.<\/p>\n

“We want people to come along, have a cup of tea, talk to someone, join an activity, ask questions and leave feeling more confident and connected.”<\/p>\n

Free copies of the Caring Together Handbook will be available to carers on the day.<\/p>\n

The Caring Together Expo will start at 10.30am at Reflections at Eppalock, Themeda Close (off Dunlop Road), Kimbolton.<\/p>\n
