ROUND three of Bendigo Triathlon Club\u2019s spring-summer season will be raced this Sunday, 6 November on the Eaglehawk circuit.<\/p>\n
Action begins in the pool at the Peter Krenz Leisure Centre, before athletes hit the roads and streets in the borough.<\/p>\n
The long course is a 400-metre swim, 15-kilometre cycle and four-kilometre run, while the short course legs will be a 200-metre swim, seven-and-a-half-kilometre cycle and two-kilometre run.<\/p>\n
\u201cFront up, record a new time and then smash it,\u201d said BTC president Gavin Hicks.<\/p>\n
After the season opening duathlon in September was washed out, triathletes swam, cycled, and ran on Sunday, 2 October in Eaglehawk.<\/p>\n
Honours in the long course went to Adam Fleming in 47 minutes, 31 seconds, followed by Jarrod Bateston and Markcus Brown.<\/p>\n
In May, Brown won the Noosa Ultraman Triathlon title and was joint winner in Bendigo\u2019s Sports Star of the Year award, with swimming champion Jenna Strauch.<\/p>\n
Winner of the women\u2019s short race was Naomi Hunter in one hour, one minute, and 53 seconds from long-time competitor Alison Cartner, and Melissa Wilkie.<\/p>\n
In the men\u2019s short course, Greg Croft charged to victory in 35 minutes, 46 seconds from Peter Walsh and Joel Crump, and in the women\u2019s, Abbey Cartner won in 31 minutes, 30 second from Australian representative Sophie Hawken.<\/p>\n
The club will reset handicap timing for an athlete\u2019s first race of the 2022-23 season. Entry fees are $20 and $15 for the long and short courses, respectively.<\/p>\n
