TWO forums will take place in the leadup to the State election, aiming to give the community an opportunity to meet and question local candidates.<\/p>\n
The Bendigo West forum will take place on Monday, 14 November at the Y Club Hall followed by the Bendigo East candidates at the Bendigo East Hall on Thursday, 17 November.<\/p>\n
Both forums will run from 7pm to 8.30pm, hosted by Bike Bendigo, Bendigo Sustainability Group, and the Australian Conservation Foundation\u2019s local branch.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe see it as a public service to allow the community to get to know what these candidates stand for,\u201d BSG president Colin Lambie said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhether it\u2019s action on climate change, transport, biodiversity, reducing emissions, increasing renewable energies, or building social housing.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe public have a right to know. They can look at websites… but I think a lot of people like to hear it from the horse\u2019s mouth.\u201d<\/p>\n
The ten invited candidates will receive questions based on concerns of the organising groups.<\/p>\n
