THE Bendigo Lego User Group is joining the flood relief effort with a fundraiser set for next weekend.<\/p>\n
The event, titled Brick Relief 2022, is exhibition slated for Saturday, 26 and Sunday, 27 November in the gym at Girton Grammar School.<\/p>\n
Committee member Kara Harris said it\u2019s BLUS\u2019 way of helping those affected by the region\u2019s ongoing flood relief and recovery effort.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were meant to have our usual display at the Bendigo Show and when that got cancelled, we wanted to pay it forward somehow,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s giving everyone our fan display while being able to help people affected by the floods at the same time.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur list of displays is growing, and we\u2019ll have things like our built RD-D2 wandering around and sets that you might not be able to see every day.\u201d<\/p>\n
More than 30 tables of Lego mastery will be on show along with opportunities to buy from by individual sellers and local businesses like Bendigo Golden Bricks.<\/p>\n
Children\u2019s play zones will be available where kids to design their own Lego creations.<\/p>\n
Ms Harris said attendees won\u2019t be lacking for variety in all things Lego.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ll have some castle setups, Christmas displays, plenty of pop culture, and Star Wars is always a popular one for us,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s so much that it\u2019s impossible to remember every single thing but there\u2019s lots of variety for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n
Tickets are $10 while children under four years old will enter free.<\/p>\n
When it comes to distributing the funds, Ms Harris said Rochester will be a priority for the group with money raised on the day allocated after talking with the town\u2019s residents.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
