THE lights at the Bendigo Regional Athletics Complex in Flora Hill\u2019s Retreat Road will be blazing at Friday night\u2019s round of Athletics Victoria Shield League action.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s the re-scheduled third round which was set for 22 October, but cancelled because of the storm threat.<\/p>\n
All athletes who entered for 22 October are in heats and flights for Friday\u2019s meet.<\/p>\n
Those who had not done so can compete on Friday on invitational basis, which means they do not score points in the Shield League premiership race.<\/p>\n
Action starts at 6pm when the hammer throwers take to the cage.<\/p>\n
Those to watch include Eaglehawk\u2019s daughter-father combination of Olivia and Craig Graham, the Norton siblings and Emma Berg from South Bendigo AC, Hailey Stubbs and the Greenman sisters from Bendigo Harriers.<\/p>\n
First flights of high jump and long jump will be at 6.30pm, and discus begins at 6.45pm.<\/p>\n
Track action kicks off with 400, 300 or 200-metre hurdles. Also on the program are 200, 800, 3000-metre runs, and the 4 x 400-metre relay.<\/p>\n
The non-scoring 1500-metre walk and 100-metre dash will also be contested.<\/p>\n
Eaglehawk was third in Premier division of last Saturday\u2019s fifth round in the AVSL season.<\/p>\n
A formidable Two Blues squad includes Cooper Richardson, Jorja Morrison, the Hattingh sisters, Kathryn Heagney, Tim Sullivan, Cameron and Nate Smith, Abbey Hromenko, and Antony Langdon.<\/p>\n
The Hawks also have the Kadri clan, Lincoln Norris, Sophie Scoble, and Marsh twins.<\/p>\n
South Bendigo was fourth in division two the past two rounds.<\/p>\n
Key members of the Bloods\u2019 squad include the 40-plus women\u2019s brigade of Carol Coad, Annette Curtis, Peta Dawe, Jackie Guillou, Trudy Haines, Debby Kirne, Jayne Norton, Jennifer Payne, and Joan Self.<\/p>\n
South also has Oliver Muggleton, Rhys Hansen, Greg Hilson, Tyler and Piper Fynch, and Amber Fox in form.<\/p>\n
Athletes to watch in the Bendigo Harriers squad include Jake Gavriliadis, Eliza Coutts, Anne Buckley, Lachlan Carr, Rebecca Soulsby, Jack Denton, Jackson Eadon, Geoff Shaw, and Caitlin, Eliza, Josh and Reeve Evans.<\/p>\n
