{"id":86769,"date":"2022-12-02T06:53:14","date_gmt":"2022-12-01T19:53:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mcivortimes\/?p=86769"},"modified":"2022-12-02T06:57:17","modified_gmt":"2022-12-01T19:57:17","slug":"community-carols-return-to-full-voice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mcivortimes\/news\/community-carols-return-to-full-voice\/","title":{"rendered":"Community carols return to full voice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>IT\u2019S the most wonderful time of the year and in preparation for Santa\u2019s return the Heathcote Lions Club is putting on its Community Christmas Carols event for the first time in a while.<\/p>\n<p>Set for Barrack Reserve this Saturday, 3 December, co-organiser and Club president Lorraine Speirs said the event was all about free community fun.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing able to see the community get together and especially now that we can have it again, is the best part,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s amazing seeing the amount of talent we have in the community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s as much of a community event as we can have and a free night for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As part of the evening student groups from Heathcote schools will be performing, as will local singers and musicians.<\/p>\n<p>Joining them on stage will be Bendigo\u2019s Marist Brothers Brass Band, with the evening coordinated by Holy Rosary School teacher Tania Malavisi.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s also one very special guest on the attendance list and he\u2019ll be arriving with a fire brigade escort!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSanta comes for the children, and they all get a bag of lollies,\u201d Ms Speirs said. \u201cSeeing the looks on the kids faces when Santa arrives is great.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe whole community is looking forward to it. When we dropped the fliers around everyone said it was so good to see it\u2019s going to be back.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe encourage people to bring a picnic and it\u2019s a family get together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>People are welcomed at the Heathcote Lions Club\u2019s Community Christmas Carols event from about 6pm on Saturday, with performances underway at 7pm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>IT\u2019S the most wonderful time of the year and in preparation for Santa\u2019s return the Heathcote Lions Club is putting on its Community Christmas Carols event for the first time in a while.
