ESSENDON has appointed Craig Vozzo as its new CEO.<\/p>\n
Vozzo, who arrived at West Coast as list manager back in 2010, was appointed as the Eagles\u2019 footy boss in 2013 before transitioning into a new role as senior corporate counsel at the end of 2021.<\/p>\n
He\u2019ll fill the void left by Xavier Campbell and most recently Andrew Thorburn at Tullamarine<\/p>\n
Club president Dave Barham announced the appointment last week and said Vozzo\u2019s appointment will commence in the new year.<\/p>\n
\u201cCraig is a terrific person who understands what\u2019s required to build a strong and successful football club,\u2019 Barham said in a statement.<\/p>\n
\u201cHis experience in delivering football results and driving a high-performance environment was a key factor in his appointment as our next CEO.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cHe is a well-rounded individual with diverse experience and background. He has strong personal values and a track record in leading and developing people to achieve strategic goals.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe external review stated we need to focus more on our core business of football and with Craig, we have someone with proven results in that area.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe is a well-respected person within the AFL industry and has impressed with his ability to lead and develop people to be their best.<\/p>\n

Vozzo also added his excitement for the role, stating, \u201cI am incredibly honoured to be given this opportunity to join the Essendon Football Club. This club has a rich and proud history and I feel privileged to be able to lead us into what is a very exciting future for the club.<\/p>\n

Vozzo rounds out a trio of senior appointments at the Bombers in 2022, with Brad Scott taking the reins as coach in October, while Barham took over the presidency in August.<\/p>\n
