THE chief executive officer of Bendigo Health has announced his retirement.<\/p>\n
After six years at the helm Peter Faulkner will step down later this year and he\u2019s celebrating the achievements and passion of his colleagues.<\/p>\n
\u201cReflecting on my term… we have achieved a great deal including the growth of services, the increased regional collaboration, implementation of an electronic patient record and establishment of the regional public health unit as well as a number of capital upgrades,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am also humbled by the philanthropic support Bendigo Health receives from our community, providing us with the ability to purchase new equipment and fund services our patients would not otherwise be able to access, most notably the Gobbe Wellness Centre which is 100 per cent funded by fundraising efforts and offers a range of complementary services for cancer patients.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to thank the board and all the staff for their support during my tenure. I will be sad to leave this great health service, but it is the right time… and the next CEO will have a great team to help them lead the service.\u201d<\/p>\n
