IF you\u2019ve ever wanted to see some of the earliest work by Australia\u2019s best-known children\u2019s authors and illustrators, then the Juvenilia exhibition at Seymour Library is for you.<\/p>\n
Whether it was handwriting stories on scrap paper or drawing pictures in pencil, some of today\u2019s most prominent creators of children\u2019s books started when they were young.<\/p>\n
Works by Andy Griffiths, Alison Lester, Graeme Base, Ursula Dubosarsky, Danny Katz, Oliver Phommavanh and many more will be on show.<\/p>\n
In a statement, Mitchell Shire mayor Cr Fiona Stevens said it would be a fantastic chance to see the early work of these well-known creators.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone had to start somewhere, and this exhibition shows the humble beginnings of the storytellers and artists we all know and love,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt will be a fun family event and I encourage people in Seymour and surrounds to come to the launch event and check it out.\u201d<\/p>\n
The exhibition opens on Friday, 17 March at 4.30pm with Star Wars illustrator Chris Kennett on hand to sign books.<\/p>\n
