THE Stars and Bars festival is returning to Heathcote on Saturday, 22 April.<\/p>\n
The one-day bus tour takes in breweries and wineries across the district with live music at different venues.<\/p>\n
Promoter, Lincoln Boyd, said the festival was in its second year and was originally born out of COVID.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were trying to get gigs happening again,\u201d he said. \u201cIt’s such a great showcase of the Heathcote region with all the best of the wine, the food, the beer and the hospitality that the region offers, and it\u2019s combined with some amazing musical performances.<\/p>\n
\u201cI’ve spent a lot of time in Heathcote over the years and it’s a place that I’ve always returned to.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe events that they have, whether it’s Heathcote on Show or the Harvest Festival, I thought Stars and Bars would be a nice addition to that line-up.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Boyd said he hoped to attract people from outside the district to come and see what Heathcote had to offer.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s bringing something new to town,\u201d he said. \u201cPeople will get a bit of a taste of Heathcote hospitality for the weekend.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know a full day bus tour is a pretty big commitment for people, but if they can’t make the full day they can certainly join in at Palling Bros from 6pm.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe’ve got some really amazing bands playing there,\u201d he said. \u201cWe’ve got the Seven Ups which is a seven-piece groove-funk-soul group from Melbourne and we’ve got special guest Karl S Williams who\u2019s flying down from Queensland especially for the gig.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe’ve also got Leslie D King and his band the Trembling Shakes, they’re on the rise, and we’ve got Jungle Jim Smith to kick things off, he\u2019s a one-man blues band, so it’s going to be a great little night.\u201d<\/p>\n
Tickets are available for either the evening or the whole day and prices range from $43.60 to $104.80.<\/p>\n
