IT\u2019S registration time for family pets with more than twenty-one thousand rego renewals sent out this week by the City of Greater Bendigo.<\/p>\n
Payments are due Monday, 10 April with more than 15,500 registered dogs and 5500 cats on the City\u2019s database.<\/p>\n
Municipal manager of safe and healthy environments Jack Schofield said all pets of a certain age need to be registered.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll dogs and cats over the age of three months must be registered with the City and microchipped,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Mr Schofield said it was important to register your pets with there being numerous advantages.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is really important pet owners re-register their pets and know the benefits,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cPet registration is a basic measure that can help ensure the pet is returned if it gets lost or escapes from a property.<\/p>\n
\u201cRegistration fees go towards the City\u2019s local law services that respond to wandering dogs, dog attacks, nuisance problems like barking dogs, cat trespass and un-owned animals.\u201d<\/p>\n
