{"id":89023,"date":"2023-04-23T04:57:22","date_gmt":"2023-04-22T18:57:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mcivortimes\/?p=89023"},"modified":"2023-04-19T12:34:42","modified_gmt":"2023-04-19T02:34:42","slug":"colbo-set-for-food-and-wine-fest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mcivortimes\/news\/colbo-set-for-food-and-wine-fest\/","title":{"rendered":"Colbo set for food and wine fest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>GIANT works of public art will be celebrated next month during the first Colbinabbin Silo Art Picnic and Wine Festival.<\/p>\n<p>The event is being run as a fundraiser with proceeds going towards maintenance and improvement works at the town\u2019s silo art precinct.<\/p>\n<p>Project manager Sadie Vale said the team behind the festival is excited to show off the town\u2019s supportive community, and public art.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are incredibly proud of our town, our silo art, and the uniqueness of our community and can\u2019t wait to share this with everyone next month,\u201d said Ms Vale.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLocal artist Tim Bowtell has done an incredible job, bringing the history of the town to life through a series of colourful and engaging murals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ms Vale said there will be something at the festival for people of all ages.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can see the railway station, our famous tractor pull, sporting history, beautiful wildlife, and the selfless CFA all in stunning colour,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Heathcote Wine Region is offering complimentary tastings from eight of their finest vineyards with a ticket including a custom wine glass to get a sample of their amazing drops.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile the wine is fantastic you won\u2019t be leaving with an empty stomach.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Colbinabbin Country Hotel and the Colbinabbin General Store Co-Op have joined forces to put on some delicious picnic packs, grazing, and sandwich platters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a family-friendly event so bring the kids down, enjoy some live music, have a wine, enjoy the beautiful silo art and the incredible community that is Colbo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A Shire of Campaspe spokesperson said the event will be reminiscent of the Colbinabbin Farmers\u2019 Picnic which ran from the late 19th century until the early 1900s.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees are asked to bring their own seating and picnic gear and said no BYO alcohol or pets are allowed.<\/p>\n<p>The Colbinabbin Silo Art Picnic and Wine Festival goes Sunday, 7 May between 11am and 3pm.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets are limited to 500 people and bookings are essential via <strong>bit.ly\/41GpbLr<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0GIANT works of public art will be celebrated next month during the first Colbinabbin Silo Art Picnic and Wine Festival.
