The Brooke Bolton and Kelsey Hayes-coached Heathcote hit back from a first-round loss at Colbinabbin to beat Leitchville-Gunbower last Saturday.<\/p>\n
Scores were 10-all at quarter-time, but the Saints gradually took control on their court at Barrack Reserve to win 56-35.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur defensive work all the way down the court was awesome,\u201d Bolton said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s what we need to do against White Hills. Forcing turnovers, making the most of chances is what you have to do against such a strong opponent.\u201d<\/p>\n
A long-time strength of the Demons is slick ball movement from defence, through mid-court and to the goaling circle.<\/p>\n
Bolton, a dual winner of the Esther Cheatley Medal as league fairest and best will not play in this match because of a wedding.<\/p>\n
The Lauren Bowles-coached White Hills won 88-21 at Leitchville in round one and then had a bye.<\/p>\n
It was a memorable day for Heathcote on Saturday as A Reserve side marked a 33-32 victory.<\/p>\n
The Saints were winless in A-reserve last season.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a fantastic result for the girls and the club. They have worked so hard,\u201d Bolton said.<\/p>\n
