ONE of Australia\u2019s most sought-after drag queens will be sashaying into town this May.<\/p>\n
Set for The Capital, the All-Drag Revue<\/em> is headlined by Prada Clutch and she\u2019s encouraging everyone come check out the show.<\/p>\n \u201cI know the world can be a bit of a crazy place,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cSo for people to be able to just come, relax, have a laugh, have a sing, have a dance, and forget all their troubles, I just think it\u2019s such a great way for people to do that.<\/p>\n \u201cFor all of us in the show, it\u2019s a great way for us to show what we do and release wonderful, glittery, fabulously sparkling costumes to the world.\u201d<\/p>\n Clutch said drag is an incredible form of expression and that freedom is one of the reasons she loves the artform.<\/p>\n \u201cI think drag is something that is growing and changing and evolving a lot in our community and in the public eye big-time,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n All-Drag Revue<\/em> includes inspiration from the legendary Sydney-based drag show Les Girls, and is directed by Monique Kelly, one of the original cast members.<\/p>\n Clutch said she was excited to be working Kelly.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen she said she wanted to help, it was just like, \u2018Okay, yes definitely\u2019, I\u2019m going to be a sponge and listen to everything,\u201d Clutch said.<\/p>\n \u201cI want to do the best show with the most incredible costumes. I want people to look at that and go \u2018Wow!\u2019 and \u2018How?\u2019 and she knows exactly how to do that.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s just fabulous to hang onto the old glamour of drag and reinvent it in modern ways.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re so blessed really to have her working on our show.\u201d<\/p>\n Clutch said the regions bring something special, and is looking forward to performing in the City.<\/p>\n \u201cWe had an 11-year-old boy come out and he was all in drag,\u201d she said. \u201cHis 13-year-old brother dressed up in drag as well to make him feel comfortable.<\/p>\n \u201cHis parents were there and were like, \u2018You, know it\u2019s what he loves, so we\u2019re not stopping him\u2019.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m just like, \u2018Wow, that\u2019s incredible\u2019, and we were in regional, regional Victoria.<\/p>\n \u201cBendigo\u2019s going to be a hoot.
