HEATHCOTE\u2019S gun forward Corey Grindlay looms as a huge threat to Elmore in Saturday\u2019s fifth round of senior footy in the Bendigo Bank Heathcote DFNL season.<\/p>\n
Recruited from Wallan, Grindlay has kicked 18 goals in three matches for the Saints.<\/p>\n
A high was eight goals in the Saints\u2019 third-round match at White Hills.<\/p>\n
Although beaten by two points, there were many positives for Heathcote coach Andrew Saladino, the team and fans.<\/p>\n
Among them were Grindlay\u2019s play in the air and at ground level.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s only three games in, but Corey has already shown he is one of the best forwards in the league,\u201d Saladino said.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe is such a difficult match-up. Strong in the air, quick, and really skilful when the ball is on the deck.\u201d<\/p>\n
After a bye, Heathcote is back at Barrack Reserve to take on Elmore.<\/p>\n
Pressure\u2019s been a key in the Saints play and it\u2019s what Saladino will want to see from the first contest against the Bloods.<\/p>\n
Heathcote regains the skilful Codie Price at half-back for the match, while tough onballer Liam Jacques must pass concussion protocols.<\/p>\n
A talented Saints\u2019 line-up includes Braden Padmore in the centre, Jordan Marcroft in the ruck, Shannon Dowsett and Liam Birch in attack.<\/p>\n
Heathcote will also look to Ben Connelly, William Direen and Henry McCarthy to defend well.<\/p>\n
