THE Australian Eagles Show are bringing their Dark Desert Highway Tour to The Capital Theatre next Saturday night.<\/p>\n
The five-piece Eagles tribute band has played sold-out shows in theatres across America, Europe and Africa and are now back on Australian shores.<\/p>\n
Band member Shayne Browne said the Eagles were a group that deserved a great tribute show.<\/p>\n
\u201cI just think the Eagles are timeless,\u201d he said. \u201cThey cover so many different age groups.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen I went to see them in concert in Brisbane, there were 80-year-olds and 18-year-olds in the crowd. Kids have raided their parent\u2019s record collections, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n
Unlike some other cover acts that try to fully play the part, Browne said The Australian Eagles Show is all about the music.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe’re not like a lot of tribute bands that have defined roles and they dress like them, behave like them and even try to talk like them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe don’t have individual roles as certain Eagle members, it\u2019s the best person for the job. We do have a singing drummer and he does all the Don Henley stuff, but we mix it up and all the band sing.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat we try and do is sound like the Eagles, that’s the most important thing.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want you to close your eyes, you know? That’s the whole idea if you close your eyes, it just sounds like the Eagles.\u201d<\/p>\n
For Browne, the Eagles are a band that invokes strong memories and that\u2019s what he wants to reproduce for the audience.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt’s all about taking you back to where you were especially for people of my age who grew up with them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
