CITY of Greater Bendigo staff are inviting older adults to join the municipal Positive Ageing Advisory Committee.<\/p>\n
The group provides feedback and advice on matters concerning positive ageing in the City.<\/p>\n
The committee also plays a role in representing the interests and concerns of older adults and integrating identified needs into plans and developments.<\/p>\n
Community partnerships manager for the City, Andie West, said the PAAC is seeking six people aged 50 and over who are passionate about supporting health and well-being in the more mature population and actively involved with older members of the community.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is an opportunity for older local residents to contribute to positive ageing initiatives in Greater Bendigo,\u201d said Ms West.<\/p>\n
\u201cMembers will need to demonstrate their ability to represent the views and needs of older adults at regular committee meetings and contribute to positive ageing in the community.\u201d<\/p>\n
Committee positions will be held for two years, and the group will convene about six times a year.<\/p>\n
Interested individuals can submit an expression of interest via the City\u2019s website at until Tuesday 20 June.<\/p>\n
