AN upset victory is what Leitchville Gunbower needs to achieve in this Saturday\u2019s eleventh round of senior footy in the Bendigo Bank Heathcote District Football Netball League season.<\/p>\n
The Shannon Keam-coached LG Bombers must beat Heathcote to keep the heat on the fifth-placed Lockington Bamawm United.<\/p>\n
Leitchville Gunbower will start the day\u2019s play a win and more than 45 per cent adrift of LBU.<\/p>\n
A win for LG against the second-placed Heathcote will lift hopes, although Lockington Bamawm United is at home to take on a North Bendigo line-up on the rebound from its first defeat this season.<\/p>\n
In round two it was the Andrew Saladino-coached Heathcote which beat the Bombers by 103 points at Barrack Reserve.<\/p>\n
On that day Corey Grindlay booted eight goals for the Saints and the gun recruit now has a season tally of 45 majors.<\/p>\n
The Bombers defence face a huge task in limiting Grindlay\u2019s influence on the contest and will also rely greatly on pressure from team-mates up the field.<\/p>\n
Key players in the Leitchville Gunbower team include Caleb Hislop, Jye Keath, Hoby Bussey, Chris Horman and Tom Brereton.<\/p>\n
Another big match will be at Lockington where the LBU Cats take on the Bulldogs from North Bendigo.<\/p>\n
Their previous meeting ended in a 10-point win as North Bendigo overturned a deficit of more than four goals in the final term.<\/p>\n
The Stacy Fiske-coached LBU is rested by the bye, while the Dogs had a hard-fought match against Mount Pleasant at Toolleen.<\/p>\n
Latest hit-out for the Cats ended in an eight-point win against Mounts.<\/p>\n
After such a crucial win against the Bulldogs, Mount Pleasant makes its way to Huntly\u2019s Strauch Reserve.<\/p>\n
Another tough assignment for the Hawks against a Blues line-up led by the brilliance of co-coaches Adam Baird and Ben Weightman and Mitch Rovers.<\/p>\n
The Huntly Hawks broke their winless run as they scored a 27-point victory at Elmore last Saturday.<\/p>\n
Locked on two and seven records, Colbinabbin will play on the Grasshoppers\u2019 ground at Colbinabbin\u2019s M.J. Morgan Reserve.<\/p>\n
In round two it was the Jed Brain-coached Hoppers who marked 59-52 victory under Elmore\u2019s lights.<\/p>\n
