COMMUNITY Food Share Seymour is a new monthly initiative that aims to provide food relief to local people in need.<\/p>\n
The joint project between Healthy Kids Mitchell and the Seymour Food Relief Collaborative is hosted by The Centre in Wallis Street at Seymour.<\/p>\n
About fifty hampers of non-perishable goods were distributed at its recent launch.<\/p>\n
In a statement, Member for Euroa, Annabelle Cleeland said the program would make a difference to the lives of many members of the Seymour community.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is a sad reality that many in our local region are doing it tough with the cost-of-living crisis,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis program will make a real difference in helping these people get some much-needed help and some relief from soaring grocery prices, exorbitant bills, and the lingering impact of last year\u2019s floods.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to congratulate those involved on successfully launching this amazing program.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a community, we are stronger together than we are apart.\u201d<\/p>\n
Residents are invited to come along for a coffee and chat at the monthly sessions, and to share their recipes and food tips.<\/p>\n
There will also be an opportunity to find out what additional services and supports are available.<\/p>\n
The hampers are arranged through Shepparton Food Share, but members of the public are encouraged to donate unopened, non-perishable items to the program.<\/p>\n
