Initially choosing teacher training, Ms Webb decided to enrol in a Certificate of Hairdressing.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel very shocked and honoured, to be honest,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBy pursuing an apprenticeship in hairdressing, I was able to become qualified in hairdressing and I was also fortunate to walk away with amazing experience and skills which have assisted me in my career.\u201d<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the combined Bendigo TAFE and Kangan Institute are in the running for Large Training Provider of the Year, which it won last year for both Victoria and Australia.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe put students at the centre of everything we do,\u201d said acting CEO Graham Fryer.<\/p>\n
\u201cBeing a finalist in this year\u2019s Victorian Training Awards validates our work in providing students with quality training, knowledge and confidence to change their lives, and our commitment to partnering with industry and the communities we serve to help solve critical skills shortages.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cTo win the award second time in a row would be such a boost for our staff and communities to know that what they are doing is recognised and it really matters.\u201d<\/p>\n
