CINEPHILE\u2019S interested in homegrown films are in for a treat with Bendigo\u2019s hub for the Melbourne International Film Festival set for the Star Cinema.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s not just movies on the agenda, with cast and crew from recent Australian films likely to make an appearance during MIFF\u2019s stay in Eaglehawk.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to be a regional venue for Melbourne International Film Festival,\u201d said Star Cinema\u2019s programming manager Hannah Moreton. \u201cI\u2019m pretty stoked about the content this year, very excited.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know in the past, there\u2019s been local directors who have been really excited about being able to see their film, and see audiences see their film, in the part of the world where they\u2019re from.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re looking forward to some Q and As with director, cast, and crew. We can\u2019t announce any of those specific details yet, but that\u2019s always an exciting part of the festival.\u201d<\/p>\n
The opening night film is Ego: The Michael Gudinski Story<\/em>, and Star will be amongst the first in the country to screen it.<\/p>\n But that\u2019s not the only music inspired flick set to screen.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s some really great music content, there\u2019s a special treat in there for John Farnham fans, and we know that there\u2019s a lot of them around,\u201d said Ms Moreton<\/p>\n
