STUNG by a one-goal loss last time, Heathcote will be fired up for another A Grade netball showdown with Mount Pleasant this Saturday.<\/p>\n

The Saints are on their court at Heathcote\u2019s Barrack Reserve to take on the Blues and it\u2019s a huge match for both clubs.<\/p>\n

Jointly coached by Brooke Bolton and Kelsey Hayes, Heathcote is fifth on a five and seven record.<\/p>\n

The Saints are 21 per cent clear of the sixth-placed North Bendigo which plays Leitchville Gunbower at Gunbower this.<\/p>\n

Mount Pleasant is fourth on six and seven, so Saturday\u2019s clash could be a prelude to a Blues and Saints elimination final.<\/p>\n

In last Saturday\u2019s play, Heathcote was beaten on Elmore\u2019s court by 20 goals as Mounts was defeated by White Hills, 64-41 at Toolleen.<\/p>\n

Bolton said the first quarter proved costly for the Saints against the unbeaten Elmore line-up.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were down, 21-8 at quarter-time,\u201d she said. \u201cThe next three quarters were much better.<\/p>\n

\u201cDefensive pressure lifted all down the court and we started to finish off attacks with goals.\u201d<\/p>\n

The powerful Elmore team won 59-39, but there were plenty of positives for Heathcote going into the match against Mount Pleasant.<\/p>\n

Key players for the Saints include Isobel and Chelsea Caughey at wing defence and wing attack.<\/p>\n

A major focus for Heathcote against the Blues will be a four-quarter effort.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need a consistent effort in attack and defence,\u201d Bolton said. \u201cA strong start is also important.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have started slowly in our past two games against Elmore and White Hills.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will be hungry for a win after our previous game against Mount Pleasant ended in a one-goal loss after leading for most of the match.\u201d<\/p>\n

After facing the Blues, Heathcote travels to Lockington\u2019s Nichol Trading Oval on August 5 to play the LBU Cats.<\/p>\n

Another huge match for the Saints will be on August 12 against North Bendigo at Barrack Reserve.<\/p>\n

Final hit-out in the home-and-away series for Heathcote is on August 19 at Huntly\u2019s Strauch Reserve.<\/p>\n
