STAFF at Bendigo Health Community Allied Services have created a group with the aim of helping older people engage in social activities.<\/p>\n
Known as the Planned Activity Group, the effort is seeking to give seniors a chance to socialise with others, enjoy activities, and go on outings.<\/p>\n
A focus for the group is using the individual strengths of members to helping them build their capacity to be independent members of the community.<\/p>\n
As part of the program, Social and respite opportunities will be provided to both participants and their carers with the aim of creating long term independent living.<\/p>\n
Participants can take part in activities like exercise games, craft, bingo, card games, and gardening.<\/p>\n
Support staff from Bendigo Health Community Allied Services will be on hand to help the participants with activities and to make sure they are receiving appropriate support.<\/p>\n
A Fitness for Older Adults program is also being run by Bendigo Health Community Allied Services and seeking to provides older adults with a range of weekly fitness classes.<\/p>\n
The program are designed to improve health and wellbeing as well as strength, fitness, balance, and mobility.<\/p>\n
