A LOCAL MP is encouraging the region\u2019s secondary students to enter this year\u2019s Premier\u2019s Spirit of Anzac Prize.<\/p>\n
The prize encourages students to explore the Anzac legacy post-World War I and its relevance in our diverse, multicultural twenty-first-century society.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis competition, which has been held annually since 2005, is a great opportunity for secondary students in years 9 to 12 to increase their understanding and appreciation of the spirit of Anzac,\u201d said Annabelle Cleeland, the Nationals member for Euroa.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor 2023, the Spirit of ANZAC Prize encourages students to explore what the term \u2018Anzac spirit\u2019 means today in a diverse and multicultural Australia.<\/p>\n
\u201cSubmissions can be made in an array of formats including but not limited to an essay, poem, short story, or even a musical composition.\u201d<\/p>\n
Since the competition began, more than 500 students have been awarded prizes and 40 students received scholarships to further their education goals.<\/p>\n
A spart of this year\u2019s prize, 10 winners will receive an all-expenses paid trip to T\u00fcrkiye, including visit to the Gallipoli Peninsula.<\/p>\n
