DUAL premiership-winning coach Cam Carter will return to Mount Pleasant to guide the senior footy side for the 2024 Bendigo Bank Heathcote DFNL season.<\/p>\n
Carter\u2019s previous stint at Mounts from 2005 to 2008 included back-to-back premiership victories in 2005 and 2006.<\/p>\n
He returns to Toolleen as the Blues chase a 21st senior grand final victory.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are excited to have Cam back at the club to build on our momentum of the past six years,\u201d co-president Phil Whiting said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is a lot of change after this year\u2019s grand final victory.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe latest premiership was built on the hard work and support of Darren Walsh, Adam Baird and Ben Weightman.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are thankful for what these legends brought to us, and how they set us up for success.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow the challenge is to continue to build on that success.\u201d<\/p>\n
Carter\u2019s coaching includes stints at three clubs across central Victoria.<\/p>\n
He also had assistant coaching roles with the Bendigo Pioneers.<\/p>\n
\u201cMany of our current players won\u2019t know Cam, but a lot of their dads do from playing in premierships with him,\u201d co-president Chris Nihill said.<\/p>\n
\u201cCam will provide a new voice for our players and start with a clean slate,\u201d said Whiting.<\/p>\n
The Blues\u2019 premiership team of 2023 included 15 players who had played at under-18s level for the club.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe average age of our senior list is 22, so there is still plenty of room for improvement,\u201d Whiting said.<\/p>\n
