{"id":92958,"date":"2023-11-10T04:55:01","date_gmt":"2023-11-09T17:55:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mcivortimes\/?p=92958"},"modified":"2023-11-09T20:26:52","modified_gmt":"2023-11-09T09:26:52","slug":"roles-for-all-in-upcoming-theatre-production","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mcivortimes\/news\/roles-for-all-in-upcoming-theatre-production\/","title":{"rendered":"Roles for all in upcoming theatre production"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AUDITIONS for Mudbrick Motley Theatre\u2019s upcoming production of <em>The Old People are Revolting<\/em> will be held on Sunday, 19 November at the Guide Hall, from 2pm.<\/p>\n<p>Founder of the theatre company, Maree Hingston, said there are roles for everyone, no matter what their talents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want this to be a production that involves as much of our community as possible,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe already have input from the Heathcote Writers\u2019 Playgroup, Community House, U3A and the Heathcote Songbirds with Sally Heley as musical director, and I want to invite other groups to participate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe production you see on stage involves so much more than the actors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe also need a producer, director, assistant director, lighting and sound technicians, backstage staff, extras, set design and building, prop managers, costume designers and dressers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen there are roles for front of house staff, bookings and ticket sales. Every role is important.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hingston has been involved in acting and theatre for more than 40 years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve filled most backstage roles at various times over the years and performed in different genres in many different theatre companies,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve also performed in a professional capacity on stage, on television and in film.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI look forward to sharing this experience with anyone who is interested in acting or other roles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you would like to audition, or just come along and find out more about producing a play, you will be very welcome.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Old People are Revolting<\/em> is set to be staged in April 2024 and Hingston can be contacted by email at <strong>chaddie@activ8.net.au<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AUDITIONS for Mudbrick Motley Theatre\u2019s upcoming production of The Old People are Revolting will be held on Sunday, 19 November at the Guide Hall, from 2pm.
