BOTH new and long-term residents in the district attended the Heathcote Fire Station open day last weekend.<\/p>\n

As part of the event CFA members were on hand to discuss concerns about the coming fire season and provide brochures and information.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was good to see many new residents seeking information on how to prepare their properties,\u201d said community safety coordinator Evan Pritchard.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was some really good interest in property assessment visits and we signed a few more people up.<\/p>\n

\u201cChildren enjoyed seeing the fire trucks and having their photos taken and, of course, everyone loved the doughnuts and dim sims in the caravan at the front.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bookings for property assessment visits are still being taken and will commence on 18 November.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor anyone who was unable to attend the open day, we will be at the Community Smiles Day at Barrack Reserve on 25 November,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe CFA Mobile Education Unit will be there and we will have audio-visual presentations, plenty of information and members available to answer any questions.\u201d<\/p>\n
