A PLANT craft start-up, which started offering workshops in July, is holding wreath making sessions in time for Christmas.<\/p>\n
The events are run by Botanical Lane and creative director Elizabeth Knight said there is a mix of local and European materials available to help create that perfect yuletide hanging.<\/p>\n
She said attendees can use as much or as little of the materials provided for their wreaths, including spruce, woolly plants, Cyprus, gypsophila, gum nuts, blue gum foliage, and dried citrus.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a blend of European and Australian materials, and with the dried citrus and the cinnamon and the gumnuts it sort of blends,\u201d said Ms Knight.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone can make their own, it\u2019s not like a cookie cutter type thing. Everybody is unique, so the way they style their homes, and the wreath is different.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ms Knight said she is grateful for the interest the classes have got so far, with many having been fully booked.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thought it would take me 12 months, but it\u2019s actually been a lot better than I expected,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe kokedama workshops are extremely popular, and what I\u2019m finding is that people who are coming, they want more, they want something else.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve got some people who\u2019ve been coming to all of them and bringing different groups of friends.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re looking to just connect with people and do an activity and take something home that they\u2019ve made themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n
Botanical Lane\u2019s final workshops of the year are on Sunday 17 December, with wreath making in the morning and one for kokedama in the afternoon.<\/p>\n
