TWENTY new students attended Heathcote Primary School on Statewide Transition Day this week.<\/p>\n

At the same time, grade six students visited their respective 2024 high schools in Bendigo and Seymour.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe children have visited our school several times over the past few weeks which was very helpful,\u201d said HPS principal Kate Ballantyne.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are excited for the new year with a total of 138 students enrolled.<\/p>\n

\u201cCurrent students from prep to grade 5, also spent two hours today in their classrooms for next year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will be fully staffed in 2024, which is excellent considering there are staff shortages across the state.\u201d<\/p>\n

The future prep students took part in story time with teacher Kym Childs reading Where is the green sheep?<\/em> by Mem Fox.<\/p>\n

Then, they went on a hunt around the school grounds to try and find a green sheep, only to discover he was in the classroom all the time.<\/p>\n
