data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cIt\u2019s very important that if you\u2019re leaving your animal home alone on nights that fireworks are going to go off, making sure that animal\u2019s secure and comfortable, that it\u2019s got a nice, safe hiding spot where it can get away.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cA covered crate or a comfy bed or even a box or something like that that they feel safe in.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cBackground noise is important, so leaving the radio on in order to create some of that barrier to sound can also help as well.\u201d<\/span><span erratically and try to do things like jumping over fences to run away Mr Radford said.<\/span><span extra padlocks on the gates and things like that certainly helps,\u201d he said.<\/span><span said is a long-held belief by many people about caring for pets in potentially stressful situations.<\/span><span reassuring your animal and making it feel safe will sort of instil the behaviour, but I&#8217;ve read lots of studies that say that\u2019s not correct,\u201d he said.<\/span><span making sure we\u2019re there for them, comforting them, and making them feel safe and secure.<\/span><span
