NEW Holy Rosary Primary School deputy-principal Kate Ruck said she\u2019s enjoying the chance to walk to work.<\/p>\n
Ms Ruck, a Heathcote local, was formerly literacy leader at St Patrick\u2019s Primary School at Kilmore.<\/p>\n
\u201cI enjoyed my time at Kilmore and I\u2019m looking forward to this new challenge,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s great to be here. There are lots of familiar faces and families I already know.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel very lucky to be able to work so close to home at a wonderful school.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is a great vibe here and the whole school community works well together.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe small class sizes are great, allowing the opportunity to spend a lot of time with each student.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ms Ruck takes over from Vincent Ryan who has taken up the position of principal at St Mary\u2019s Primary School at Rushworth.<\/p>\n
\u201cVin gave me a very thorough handover which has helped me make an easy transition and a good start,\u201d said Ms Ruck.<\/p>\n
Holy Rosary principal Paul Dullard said he was pleased to welcome Ms Ruck to the school.<\/p>\n
\u201cKate is a local and fits in beautifully with our school community,\u201d he said. \u201cHer strengths in literacy will be a great asset.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe wish our former deputy Vin Ryan all the very best in his new position.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am sure he will do very well there, and Holy Rosary is still in great hands.\u201d<\/p>\n
