INTERNATIONAL Women\u2019s Day is set for Friday 8 March and the Country Women\u2019s Association\u2019s Bendigo Northern Group is among several community organisations getting involved to raise awareness for the event.<\/p>\n
In advance of the day itself, the CWA branch is holding a speaking event about resilience and tools to use in difficult situations titled Managing Personal Crisis.<\/p>\n
\u201cCWA is about caring and making things better for women and children, and that\u2019s what this day\u2019s about,\u201d said president of CWA Bendigo Northern Group, Lyn Turner.<\/p>\n
\u201cManaging personal crisis seems to be a bit of an issue, whether it\u2019s domestic violence, whether it\u2019s post-trauma such as floods or fire, death of a loved one.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve tried to target speakers that\u2019ll be able to perhaps give skills and help people be able to cope with those personal crises a bit better.\u201d<\/p>\n
Guest speakers include Aiala Morales and Pai Rittichai from WIRE and a representative from Women\u2019s Health Loddon Mallee.<\/p>\n
Ms Turner said it was important to note that people from all backgrounds are invited to attend.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverybody\u2019s welcome, it\u2019s not just for CWA ladies, it\u2019s for anybody in the community,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
CWA Bendigo Northern Group\u2019s International Women\u2019s Day event will start at 1.30pm on Wednesday 6 March at Bendigo Regional Tennis Centre.<\/p>\n
