{"id":95005,"date":"2024-03-12T04:56:00","date_gmt":"2024-03-11T17:56:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mcivortimes\/?p=95005"},"modified":"2024-03-12T04:56:00","modified_gmt":"2024-03-11T17:56:00","slug":"pink-floyd-tribute-to-play-songs-live-for-first-time-in-decades","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/mcivortimes\/news\/pink-floyd-tribute-to-play-songs-live-for-first-time-in-decades\/","title":{"rendered":"Pink Floyd tribute to play songs live for first time in decades"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\n<p><p>ECHOES of Pink Floyd, a tribute band from Adelaide who have toured the nation several times since 2015, will be returning to Bendigo with their tour, Signs of Life. <\/p>\n<p><p>The band started their latest tour at the beginning of 2023, 35 years after Pink Floyd performed in Australia in 1988 following the release their album <EM>A Momentary Lapse of Reason<\/EM>. <\/p>\n<p><p>The tour was filmed, recorded, and subsequently released as an album called <EM>A Delicate Sound of Thunder<\/EM>. <\/p>\n<p><p>\u201cWe\u2019re basically paying tribute to that last tour that Pink Floyd did,\u201d said keyboardist Paul Bindig. <\/p>\n<p><p>Bindig, who has been in the band since 2013, said it has been interesting to see how the audience has grown and the demographics expanded over the years. <\/p>\n<p><p>\u201cWe\u2019ve been to Bendigo three times before and every time we\u2019ve gone there\u2019s a few more people in the audience,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p><p>\u201cA lot of Pink Floyd\u2019s music was released in the 70s and the 80s, and so we have a slightly younger demographic coming to these shows because it\u2019s more 80s based. <\/p>\n<p><p>\u201cThat tour, they played a lot of their oldies as well, so there\u2019s something for everyone there. <\/p>\n<p><p>\u201cIt\u2019s great to see younger people coming and enjoying it and relating to the music like we all did when we were younger too.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><p>The other band members are lead singer Matt Goodluck, lead guitarist Dan Hunter, Jason Miller on drums, Mark MacNab on rhythm and acoustic guitar, saxophonist Dan Modica, and Will Byrne on bass.<\/p>\n<p><p>Echoes of Pink Floyd will be back at the Capital Theatre, Bendigo, on Friday 22 March and for tickets head to the Bendigo Region website.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ECHOES of Pink Floyd, a tribute band from Adelaide who have toured the nation several times since 2015, will be returning to Bendigo with their tour, Signs of Life.
